Vacation Rental Cleaning App

The idea for Staymaker came when I watched my mom manage her vacation rentals. What started as a few apartments quickly turned into several and suddenly her days were full of WhatsApp messages, phone calls, and spreadsheets just to organize cleaning schedules. Every checkout meant a new round of coordination. It worked, but it was stressful and time-consuming.


That’s when I began thinking about a system that could handle it automatically. A tool that syncs with booking calendars like Airbnb and Booking.com, detects every checkout, and instantly creates a cleaning task. A system that assigns the right cleaner, checks their availability, and keeps everything in one clean overview. A vacation rental cleaning app!


Staymaker is built around that idea.. bringing automation and smoooooth operation into a process that usually feels chaotic. Hosts can manage multiple properties, assign cleaners, and track cleanings without jumping between apps. Cleaners can see their schedule, upload photos, and mark tasks as complete. The app keeps both sides connected without the constant back and forth.


Design

Design plays a big part in it. Staymaker is built to feel smooth, light, and intuitive - an interface that feels more like flow than management. No clutter, no unnecessary buttons, just clarity. Every screen is designed to help users stay organized without thinking about it. I wanted to take inspiration from glassmorphism visuals where objects look glassy with a bit of seethrough and a blurred background. Conveniently the new iOS 26 update brought us Liquid Glass which I will implement in the design in the future!


Platforms

Right now, I'm developing the app for iOS only but I plan to either create a WebApp or have it published for Android as well!

This is my setup! I'm a film composer too so it's not optimized for typing on the computer keyboard as much but having multiple screens is the key!

Right now, Staymaker is still in development. The foundation is in place, and the focus is on testing and refining how it feels to use. The goal is simple: make vacation rental management effortless for hosts, reliable for cleaners, and beautifully straightforward for everyone involved.


Right now, the app is in it's MVP phase but I'm always open for feature suggestions!
